Weekend Highlights

It is kind of hard to tell in the picture below but Kara has a new favorite thing. She likes to go around the house with a plastic piece of pork chop (from the play kitchen) hanging out of her mouth. She managed to get it out of the house a couple of times too. Very funny.

We went to the Children's Botanic Garden to play in the fountains but they were closed! ARGH! We enjoyed other parts of the park but didn't stay past 10am as it was too hot for the kids after that.

Cool bridge:
Jack discovered he likes playing in the mud:Kara enjoyed the black rocks:

Ainsley's favorite was the big orange slides! (note: when I asked her if she would be too hot in pants and long sleeved shirt she said no. 30 minutes later she was happy I brought a change of clothes just in case!)
Cool hill and tree:

And the highlight of the weekend, a big storage box we bought from IKEA. The girls couldn't get enough of playing in it and pushing it around the house.

Cute Videos

A monkey, some swimming, and a lot of outfit changes

This was a pretty normal weekend.

1) A trip to the swimming pool:

2) A trip to the zoo where Ainsley was totally obsessed with the baboons. She sat and watched them for a very long time and was very sad when we finally had to leave the exhibit.
Here she is in her baboon trance:On our way out of the zoo we told her we would buy her a stuffed baboon. However, the stuffed baboon was way too much money and had fur that was going to shed so we settled on a stuffed chimpanzee (which she calls Baboon). Baboon is now her favorite item. He ate lunch with us, took a nap with Ainsley (the backpack is full of books to read before naptime)...
and went to the swimming pool...
3) Fun with friends! We were invited to Hugo's house for swimming and a cookout. Ainsley and Hugo had a BLAST.

4) A trip to the milk store. In order to get a discounted price on organic milk we have to buy in bulk, so it is quite an outing since we don't have a car.

5) Outfit changes continue to crack us up. Below are a few of our favorites from the weekend.

6) Kids bathed, pj'd, and now all brusing teeth before bed.

We are ready for another week :-)

Fun in July

Rub-a-dub-dub three kids in the tub! We usually wash two at a time but sometimes all three are in the bath together. It gets pretty crowded in the tub but they seem to enjoy it.

Ainsley changes clothes several times a day and always has to "do myself" so her outfits are quite interesting. On a weekend day she goes through no less than 5 outfits a day. This weekend she decided she also wanted to play dress up with Kara so they both wore boots that Ainsley picked out. Until this phase ends you will see some very interesting outfit choices and we assure you we are not picking these out for her to wear!

Today we went to the zoo. We love the Singapore zoo and this was Jack & Kara's first time to go. All three had a great time.
Ainsley has a t-shirt with animals on it and insisted on taking it to the zoo with us and pointed out the animals we saw on her shirt. Here she is showing the zebra on her shirt and the zebras at the zoo...
Pretending to be a lion...
Kara pointing at the monkey's...
Ainsley and Kara watching the elephants...

Jack chillin' in his stroller... (we had to take him out of the double stroller because he and Kara would not stop fighting/biting/pulling hair/screaming, etc.)

Jack has fully recovered from his illness and is feeling better. Both Kara and Jack continue to make a lot of progress and are growing rapidly these days. They did really well with the transition to milk and while they still do a bottle in the morning and before bed, they use sippy cups the rest of the day. They are also transitioning to one nap, which is how we were able to take everyone to the zoo together!

We were bummed we didn't have our camera with us during a walk to the grocery store so we could capture this on video. Ainsley would stop and say, "Listen to me! I am the leader, you follow me. Okay? Let's go!" then she would proceed to lead us to the store and if we even thought of getting in front of her she would yell "STOP!" and repeat the entire monologue again. It was hysterical.

Just Some Pix

We didn't take any new pictures this weekend as Jack came down with a bad virus on Saturday and was really sick all weekend. We are all exhausted and Jack is not feeling well. We are doing what we can to keep his fever down and hope this passes quickly.

Below are some pictures we took last weekend but didn't post. We went to the Under Water World aquarium at Sentosa. It was not a great aquarium, but there were some fun things to see. Ainsley's favorite was the sea lion and she also got to pet a snake. The tank we are in below had scuba divers, which was also a highlight for Ainsley. She loves scuba divers!

Kara is standing on her own really well and has tried to take one step but really prefers to just stand still and clap for herself. She is also using her sign language now and will sign "more" "all done" and "milk" which is cute. She and Ainsley play a lot together and have tons of fun (well, most of the time).

Jack is not feeling the need to do anything new. He likes to do his own thing while his sisters play together, but is always up for a game of chase.
Jack and Kara saw their doctor this week for their one-year check up. Everything looks good and the doctor was pleased with their progress.
