Spring!

Some fun memories from our first spring in Georgia!

One of our first adventures was a day trip to nearby Stone Mountain. We spent all day and all evening there, and stayed for the laser light show.

Spring greeted us with lots of nice spring weather, beautiful flowers and trees, and lots and lots of rain!

In the month of April Oakhurst has Jazz night every Thursday. So much fun!

Winnona Park has one of the best playgrounds in town! We spent many, many afternoons playing at the park after school!

Ainsley was invited to join the MudSquad team (all kids from WPES) at the mini Mudder. She had a blast!

Ainsley's pre-Academy soccer team played in a three-day tournament in John's Creek. They all had a ton of fun.

For Memorial weekend we drove to Seed Lake, where we met up with Luke, Emma, and Heather.

Last day of school!!!!!!!! We are so grateful that WPES welcomed us with open arms, and that the kids had a fantastic transition to their new school.

Easter 2015

For Easter we drove from Atlanta, GA to Monteagle, TN (2.5 hours) to spend the holiday with the Tennessee Diamonds!

 

  

After church we headed back to fry a turkey, eat lunch, and have an Easter egg hunt!

Move to Atlanta, Georgia

March 2015: we left the great state of Texas, and our beloved city of Austin, to move to Atlanta, GA.

The kids started at their new school, Winnona Park Elementary, the third week of March. The school greeted each of them with open arms and their first day could not have gone better.

On our walk home from school I asked the kids, "How was your first day today?" ... this is how they wanted to chronicle the memory of their first day at WPES -

We are happily settled into our new home in Decatur. It is a charming community within the city of Atlanta. Although there are many things we miss about Austin, the kids have settled well and this is a great place for us to call home.

Spring Break 2015

This year we returned to Whistler for Spring Break, but with a slight twist! We flew into Seattle so that we could check out a new city and state, and then rented a car and drove to Canada.

In Seattle we enjoyed looking around the Pike Place Market, got some delicious pastries and hot chocolate from a French cafe, and enjoyed a typical rainy day in in the Pacific NW!

Whistler had a lot less snow this year, and the weather was pretty warm but we still had a great time. There was plenty of snow on the top of the mountain (there was none at the bottom), so the skiing was good enough for us!
